Vintage Japanese Beads

OUTSTANDING!!! These are old hand made beads that are an opaque rich chocolate color with a transparent truffle colored swirl. Yummy. . . . oh yeah! They are made in Japan. Some have the original tags with an elephant image and the words "Trade Mark - Made in Japan". These are temporarily strung in a graduated fashion. The sizes vary but on average size is 5 to 14mm. The lengths of the strand averages 19 inches. Very nice value.

30 x 9mm average size. Made in Japan by Cherry Brand. Very rare and limited. These yellow hand made beads have a white and brown swirl. Very unusual.

8mm round. These are really brilliant!!!! An old fashioned lipstick reddish coral color. Outstanding!!! These are "Made in Japan" and came out of their original boxes marked "Superior Beads Co." We enjoy finding beads like this. They have a sort of ’feelin’ that the contemporary stuff can’t measure up to.

14 x 17mm. These are extremely rare and unusual! Each beads is hand made so no two are exactly alike. The milky white glass has a red and black stripes around the middle. They have a sort of Deco feel to them. Playful yet serious. . . .don’t ya think?

5mm jade green colored glass vintage beads on brass headpins. Very nice. 48 per lot.

12mm in length. Very special beads!!! Each bead has its own unique millefiori design. No two beads are exactly alike. Beautifully bubbly and rare!

9 x 17mm. These are really sweet and old. c. 1918. Swirls of golden aventurine and then crumbles of Carmel colored glass on the outside give these beads texture. Real eye candy.

6mm rounds. This is a half drilled bead. You can attach a wire with glue or post type setting. Made by Peacock Brand in Japan. These are beautifully translucent with a white speckling. Quite nice.

18mm round. These are very hard to come by! We stumbled upon them and could not believe our eyes. The beauty and detail in these hand made old beauties will surely excite any bead lover. Get them while we have them.

7mm from hole to hole x 5mm at the widest x 3mm at the top. These are more translucent in person. They glow a ruby red. Get these while you can.

14mm square. The only hole is the large center one. The backs are flat. The fronts are rounded off by long irregular cuts or facets. These are glass from Japan. Sew them down or wrap them up. These are versatile.

5mm jade glass beads, strung as a 16" four strand necklace. The ends are finished with brass split rings so they would just need a clasp to finish them. The beads closest to the split rings are 3mm. Very nice! Taken apart, you have a pile of excellent vintage jade green beads to incorporate into your designs. Super deal!

6mm. These are stunning! We really like these beauties. They are old and fantastic! Used in designs by Robert & Haskell. Get these beauties while you can.

8 x 2.5mm. These rich red flat discs are sensational. Some are more transparent than others but you will enjoy working with both rich red transparent & opaque beads contained within the lot.

5mm. These are very old. Yes, they are in the antique catagory! They were made in Japan at the earliest development of faceted beads. They were machine made and they do have a seam as the technique had not yet been perfected. A wonderfully rare find.

8 x 12mm. These are very unusual to see. The photo does not do them justice. This beautiful glass bead has the most wonderful opalized color! The shape is as unusual as the color. They are a rectangular slanted and have a pinched feel lengthwise. Made in Japan by Cherry Brand beads.

6mm round. Made in Japan. Came out of the original box. Old goodies! Great Blue Color to design with Blue Jeans.

2mm. Made in Japan by Matsuno. Sold by the hank. That’s a lot of beads.

4mm. These were made in Japan. A rare find. Nice translucency.

6mm. From Japan. Dobu shell was used for Ladie’s hair combs, knitting needles, fountain pens, and other items held close to the body because the shell had properties that make it feel warm and comfortable. It was immune to static charge. The shell material was scarce though making it expensive.

11mm x 18mm x 23.5mm. The shape of these is outstanding. Made in Japan for Cherry Brand. Get these while you can as they are very limited.

14mm x 18mm. These are pretty spectacular. Lots of speckled color in these. Very limited.

3.5 x 10mm. Unusual shape! These "made in Japan" beads have one simple twist that gives them a paddle look. Check out the enlargement for a better view. We love um! Limited.

3mm rounds. Nice ones here. Love the color. We have not had this color in the tiny rounds before. Approx 270 pearls per strand.

4.5mm x 7mm. These are the first rice shaped faux pearls that we have uncovered. There are approx 107 pearls per strand. Lovely.

6 x 9mm head drilled, dancing drops. Pretty reflective glowing quality when the light hits these beauties just right. They are made in Japan. Nice.

19mm x 7mm. Beautiful rose pink with a beautiful satin finish with a center hole. The rose color does vary a bit from bead to bead. Some have a deeper color than others. Great mixture in each lot. I have to admit that I have been hoarding these babies for some time and have been talked into sharing the bead wealth. The swirls are actually gold stone dust embedded into the wonderful expresso colored glass. When you hold them up to the light they glisten.
