Vintage Shell, Horn & Organic Beads

30 x 8mm. What a fantastic find! Highly polished vintage horn beads . You will receive a nice mixture of light and dark horn beads in each package. Very unique!

52 x 32mm average size. These beads are from old designer overstock. They are nice and substantial. Drilled lengthwise with horn on the ends and the center of the beads. They look like giant faceted bicone beads. Sold in lots of two beads. Made in the Philippines. Great find. Great price.

26 x 35mm. Drilled lengthwise. This one was found in a crate of old designer overstock shell beads. Each bead is substantial. Made in the Philippines.

24mm. Made in Japan. Beautiful hand painted wooden beads. Each floral bead is unique in detail. With a 4mm hole these beads would look great strung on some leather or fabric cording. Super light weight for such a large bead!

5mm. These are vintage shell heishi beads. A very nice mix of neutral colors with a occasional hint of pink.On a 24" strand, this is a lot of beads!

30 x 7mm. No Holes. These arms are hand carved from African black ebony. You could drill a hole in these, wire wrap them, or weave them into a seed bead design. Very detailed clenched fist. Most unusual!

6 x 26mm-10 x 26mm. These are hand carved, vintage, bone beads. Each bead is unique in size and the carved pattern varies ever so slightly from one bead to the next. A great natural addition to your collection!

4 x 17mm. These are an unusual find! Made of wood, these remind me of wooden match sticks. They have a nice reddish brown color with a darker round marking on each side at one end.

18mm rings. These rings, made in the 1950’s, are made from dyed bone. Their coloring ranges from brown to black giving them an appearence similar to a dark & rich tortoise shell.

6mm. From Japan. Dobu shell was used for Ladie’s hair combs, knitting needles, fountain pens, and other items held close to the body because the shell had properties that make it feel warm and comfortable. It was immune to static charge. The shell material was scarce which makes it more expensive.

10mm round with a single hole in the center. This is a flat disc originally produced in the 1920’s for the textile industry for buttons that originally had a metal shank added in the center. These have also been used as sequins before celluloid and plastic sequins came to be. These were in their original boxes marked "Made in Japan". Old and naturally beautiful. What nice additions these would make to jewelry designs of today? Hum. . . .

18 x 6.5mm. These are natural in color. Beautifully carved and old. Bone beads were used oh so long ago to adorn. Basically beautiful.

Sizes do vary - approximately 6-25mm diameter. Thicknesses really vary from bead to bead as well. Gotta have these old beauties. Came out of original packaging that says "Made in Taiwan Republic of China". The beads are drilled through the center of the spiral. Well made, unique & rare!!!!
