Vintage Cabochons
Check out our collection of vintage cabochons for beading. We have found the most interesting pierced cabochons made of glass that are Japanese and also from West Germany. In our travels, we have hunted for the most interesting cabochons with beautiful detail to make our vintage clasps and to attach to your bead work. Great for seed bead work! 30mm in diameter and 20mm in height. What an unusual find! These are handmade, no two are exactly alike. There is a flat base on the back of each poppy that is approximately 16mm in diameter. I believe that these may have been designed for use on a chandelier, some do have a bit of glue residue on the backside. Use your imagination, these would be beautiful in seed bead work or any type of woven design.

This was done to accommodate pins for use in setting earrings in the 50’s. I’ve seen it done before. The metal does show signs of age which always adds to my interest. Made in W. Germany. Really nice color when the light hits these babies. Very limited.

33mm. These came out of old designer overstock from the 70’s. They were made in Italy and have a flat back with an area indented possibly to glue and attach to some other component. We are not quite sure what these were used for, but there is a large opening within the design of the piece to work into your design ideas. The color is stunning and the shape is really cool. Great objects to play around and stumble on a sensational design idea.

The interesting thing about these is that an opaque green is marbled within the base color. When you turn over the cab, you can really see the marbling. Nice design effect!
