Vintage Black Glass Beads

6mm bead. Made in Western Germany, these vintage black beads are english cuts. English cuts are rough cut beads that were made before machine cutting was perfected. The faceting is slightly imperfect and rough but it gives them a nice sparkle!

8mm. Made in Japan. Sold in lots of 50 beads. A Great basic black bead!

10 x 25mm average size. These are very old German glass that has been molded and faceted into a sensational shape. Some natural imperfections cannot be unnoticed. And who would want them any other way? The manufacturing techniques were primitively perfect for the time. These pieces may have been used as tops to hat pins or for dangling designs with eye pins. Glue in a wire or eye pin and you decide.

8 x 52mm. Made in Japan, these are vintage glass Cherry Brand beads. They are large horn shaped beads with a twist. What a great focal bead these would make for a necklace or bracelet! Very limited!!

8 x 11 x 7mm. This old glass bead has a lot of style!!! An asymmetrical flying saucer shape makes this one really special. The transparent smokey color is a real pleas-er too!

10 x 4mm. Made in Western Germany. These glass rondell beads have a nice metallic hematite finish. Great spacer bead!

14mm square. The only hole is the large center one. The backs are flat. The fronts are rounded off by long irregular cuts or facets. These are glass from Japan. Sew them down or wrap them up. These are versatile.

6 x 18mm. These glass beauties are black with a stunning golden wash on them. Look at the enlarged view. The images do not do this one justice!

5mm. Very pretty faceted glass beads. A wonderful combination of blues, greens, and purples. Great little spacer bead!

6.5mm round. These wonderful jet black glass beads have two holes so they make super spacers for smaller work. The real special feature is the dimple on the front side that was made to fit a size 28 crystal chaton perfectly. We have a rainbow of size 28 Swarovski Chatons in stock to choose from in the Crystal Section of the website. (note that the image was taken with a couple of crystals to demonstrate how pretty they can be. We use Hypo Cement to glue the crystals. This is also available in the Tools and Materials section of the site. Many possibilities here!

5mm approximately. Made in Czechoslovakia. These are very old primitive cut glass beads. Made before the process of machine cutting was perfected, each of these beads is unique. Many have larger holes making them great for working with thicker stringing materials. If you are a "vintage" lover, these are a must have staple for your collection. Great price!

17mm average size. Handmade in Germany, these vintage glass beads are unique in both size and color. A transparent grey/green bead with light grey opal swirls. The shape is somewhat unusual, the sides and top are slightly flattened. Have to see these in person to appreciate the quality of these old goodies.

4mm. Made in Japan. Just a nice simple round glass bead. Perfect as a spacer bead. You can never have to many of these!

15 x 10mm. Made in Japan. These are delicate hollow beads. They are flat on the back and have a wonderful faceted dome shape. Light as a feather! Very rare beads.

18 x 5mm. Made in Japan. These are delicate hollow beads in a fantastic faceted tube shape. Light as a feather! Very rare beads.

10 x 14mm. From old vintage stock, these are jet black glass pressed into the shape of leaves. Nice addition to your design!

4 x 6mm. Nice old beads uncovered in their original packaging. Some will have original tags "Made in Czechoslovakia", and some will not. These are very old and rare.

6 x 8mm. Made in Czechoslovakia. Vintage glass rondells in the shape of a flower. These are really cute! Available in a rainbow of colors these will make a great spacer bead!

4.5mm. These are rare old 5 sided cut glass beads. Uncovered in their original boxes with "Made in Czechoslovakia" on the box. Black matte finish. Cute as can be.

8 x 8mm. Made of glass, but they look like grey sugar cubes. Unusually wonderful!

5mm. These are very old. Yes, they are in the antique catagory! They were made in Japan at the earliest development of faceted beads. They were machine made and they do have a seam as the technique had not yet been perfected. A wonderfully rare find.

8mm x 8mm. These are a rare old goody indeed. Glossy jet black finish. 5 sided pentagon shape. Uncovered in their original boxes with "Made in Czechoslovakia" on the box.

4 x 6mm. These wonderful old goodies are clear with a black finish on the inner hole. The bead has 5 edges for a nice shape as well as unusual color from the core. This bead is also available in blue, white, & far out pink.

8 x 8 mm. Made in Czechoslovakia, these black glass beads are in a half barrel shape. They would make an interesting addition to any jewely design!

14 x 5mm. Nice old made in Czechoslovakia spacer style beads. These have a nice indentation in the center of both sides so that it will hug other beads that you may wish to incorporated into your designs. (12mm round beads look smart with these Hug Beads.)
