It was love at first sight when I saw this clasp, and it became the foundation for this bead-embroidered necklace. The clasp reminded me of walking in the dark and seeing hints of texture in the stillness.

Upon receiving this amazing vintage ceramic bead, by Suzanne, I decided to make it the focal point of my piece. Being an Ambassador for Swarovski Elements, I of course, had to include some bling - to give it that sparkle! I love using unusual elements like buttons in my pieces to show versatility in many different types of elements. I also love big bold pieces, with big bold colors! I am a Flower Child at heart - so it just seemed like a fitting name, playing off of our beloved 60s/70s era like ceramic beads such as this, as well as macrame was such a great way of self-expression.
I have been using viking weave a lot and this was the first necklace I made.
These creamy orange lucite beads are from a broken,vintage necklace. Given the task of redesigning it, I used a special button she had to create a pendant and I needed a clasp to complete it. I was elated when a vintage lucite clasp from A Grain of Sand matched perfectly! When I returned it to the owner beautifully redesigned as a new necklace she was estatic! I challenged her to "find the vintage clasp" and I repeat that challenge to the viewers!
This vintage amber necklace is a redesign. A simple one strand necklace from the 1920’s was given new life with the addition of rectangular gold pearls, Swarovski Lt. Topaz crystal beads , and Swarovski Crystal Copper Twist beads from A Grain of Sand. The client was totally thrilled with the choice of the Swarovski crystals as she used to sell the original long Swarovski beads in her Card Shop in the 1940s.



        This necklace was inspired by a time in the Victorian Era when Black was in Vogue - for me, Black as well as Vintage is always in Vogue so designing this necklace for the 21st Century was only natural.

       An all Sterling Silver chain and Vintage Black Ornate center piece that adds to the star of the necklace...the Flourished Vintage Black and Clear Lucite drop with touches of Genuine Garnet beads (purchased at a grain of sand several years ago) tied all together by a sterling silver clasp.

       This piece can be worn to add drama to any style - whether you are casually dressed or dressed to the nines.   It’s a keeper piece in any Century!

This very colorful necklace is done in coral and mother of pearl flowers for a one of a kind tribute to the classic leigh. 

A friend’s vintage carnelians have been restrung for her with the addition of vintage Swarovski toning crystals and small modern carnelians, offering the option to wear as one long strand or two strands, showcasing the fine clasp….which is  one of  A Grain of Sands’ classy cameo  cabochon vintage clasps. It matches perfectly and is the birth month flower of the lucky owner.

A second strand of small carnelians, aragonites and red aventurine beads with Swarovski crystals and another beautiful clasp from A Grain of Sand can be worn single or double, with or without the larger necklace, to make this a very versatile set.

I designed this long fashion necklace in warm colors of gold, terra cotta, apricot,  tangerine and raspberry. It  reminds me of a summer  evening sunset. The vintage brass corrugated beads from A Grain of Sand,  add wonderful  texture, and shine to the piece, as well as  a funky retro feeling, without adding alot of weight.

Kyanite is a wonderful stone known to aligns chakras and open chakras. This piece is meant to be worn as a choker which is great since the stones work best when worn near the throat chakra.

I love this sterling chainmaille necklace and the clasp from A Grain of Sand makes it even more special.
This wirewrapped pendant is finished off with petals made from the beautiful "Vintage Bronzed Olives" from A Grain of Sand.
These bold, beautiful red jade beads are wrapped on sterling wires, and the necklace is finished with a fabulous vintage Karl Lagerfeld signature clasp. They are accompanied by round ear wires that dangle red jade and black spinel.
These creamy sky-blue turquoise beads are hard to miss, especially when paired with the black spinel spacers seen here. The vintage clasp from A Grain of Sand highlights the perfect blending of these colors. The earrings are hung on round sterling ear wires; 3 spinel beads dangle from each blue globe.

This necklace is realized with vintage czech glass and vintage lucite beads, the pendant is in polymer clay "mokumé style".

The garnet makes good jewelry because it is very hard, and so resistant to wear.
I wanted to make a necklace with garnets. [It’s my personal birth stone.] I found these stones and the clasp at A Grain of Sand.
